Panoramic Health brought an interesting opportunity to us to take advantage of value-based care—both the infrastructure and the equity position. Panoramic Health offered a chance to be part of the profitability beyond just seeing patients.
The fact that hundreds of nephrologists had signed up before us and that they all seemed happy was attractive. Plus, everyone we met was really professional and answered all of our questions in detail. We felt comfortable about our decision.
Partnering with Panoramic Health is going to make our practice a lot more robust—whether it’s educating a patient, providing them with a dietician or helping us with all the processes in the background. We have a lot of ideas for our patients, but sometimes the processes get in the way. Panoramic Health has process people that can help. As a result, patients will have better experiences – better communication and ultimately better, more seamless care.
When it comes to selecting a partner, I would suggest that other nephrologists evaluate all options and when doing so, decide whether or not joining with other groups changes your independence more than joining with Panoramic Health. Although we are working with other people, we still have a say in how things will go and we are still independent. If we worked with a large dialysis company, we would have no say. With Panoramic Health, I stay as involved as I want to be in the behind the scenes and make my own decisions.
